He has premiered many contemporary works . Jacques Hétu , François Morel , Bernard Heiden , Anne Lauber, Anthony Rozankovic are among the long list of composers Maestro Boivin has collaborated with.

Education of the next generation is of significant importance to the Maestro and he has independently created a number of original concepts and programs reaching thousands of children.

In 1991 he conducted a concert in front of a record breaking crowd of 100,000 with the Laval Symphony Orchestra of which he was artistic director from 1988 to 1993 . During this period he made numerous successful radio broadcasts with the same orchestra.

He was acclaimed " Revelation of the Year " by Radio-Canada .
